A Namibian Escape: My Experience at Atlantic Villa Guesthouse

As a proud African traveller, I made a promise to intentionally escape and travel to more African countries because each one has something special to offer. With each destination I visit, I get to explore and document the travel experience which I then share via my blogs, podcast episodes or videos on Escapes with TKay not only to change the narrative that Africa is not safe but to also share travel tips.

One of the safest African countries I recently visited is Namibia, located on the southwestern coast of Africa. Namibia is known for its Namib Dessert along the Atlantic Ocean coast, diverse wildlife and picturesque landscape.

A major factor I take into account when travelling is finding the perfect accommodation, where I will feel safe and comfortable during my stay. I prefer staying at accommodation spots that have personality, are a vibe, provides convenience, are within reach and of course ascetics.

With the assistance of Transcend Travel, a boutique travel agency offering travel management services, I purchased a four-day travel package to Swakopmund, Namibia for LSL17 500 (I will discuss the package in the next blog), arriving on Thursday, 3 October 2024 at Walvis Bay International Airport. I was booked into the Atlantic Villa Guesthouse in Swakopmund, approximately 40-minutes from the airport for three nights.

My experience at Atlantic Villa Guesthouse

My stay at Atlantic Villa Guesthouse was amazing. From the seamless check-in at reception to my stunning sea-view suite. Not only is the suite spacious and ascetically pleasing, waking up to the mesmerising sounds of the Atlantic Ocean is heaven on earth. The sea-view room has a private balcony, separate lounge, a smart TV, Wi-Fi, kitchenette with appliances and a coffee/tea station

Atlantic Villa also has a dining area where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and a bar lounge area where you can unwind after a long day. The Villa can also assist with booking activities around Swakopmund for the adventurous travellers or organise a cab to and from the Villa. How can I forget the hospitable staff, making sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.
